The one thing to know: tickets are sold online only, for a specific date and 30-minute entry slot. Morning slots on weekends sell out days ahead in high season (October to April). Book as soon as you know your dates.

Opening hours & time slots
- Jardin Majorelle: daily, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, last entry 5:00 pm.
- Berber Museum (inside the garden): daily, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, last entry 4:30 pm.
- YSL Museum (next door): 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, last entry 5:30 pm. Closed on Wednesdays.
- Villa Oasis private garden: daily except Wednesday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (separate, limited ticket).
Hours shift during Ramadan and on Eid; the official site shows the current schedule on the booking calendar. Your slot is the entry time. Once inside, you can stay as long as you like until closing.
How to book, step by step
- Go to tickets.jardinmajorelle.com (the only official seller).
- Create an account (email + password). Yes, it is annoying; there is no guest checkout.
- Pick the ticket type, your date, then a time slot. Grey dates are full.
- Pay by card. Foreign Visa/Mastercard work; some banks trigger a 3-D Secure check, so keep your phone nearby.
- You receive a PDF with a QR code per person. Show it on your phone at the gate; no need to print.
Tip: book the Garden and the YSL Museum as a combined ticket in one order. The slots are set separately, so you can do the garden at 8:00 and the museum at 10:00 when it opens, with a coffee in between at the café inside the garden.
Sold out? Here is what actually works
Search for "Majorelle sold out" and you will find panicked forum posts every week. In practice, this is the order to try:
- Other slots, same day. Most people book 9:00–11:00. Slots after 3:30 pm are frequently free even when the morning shows full.
- The combined ticket. The Garden + YSL combo draws from its own allocation. It costs more, but it is often available when the garden-only ticket is not. Full playbook: Majorelle sold out? What actually works.
- Refresh 2–3 days before. Tour operators release unsold group allocations a few days ahead. Check the calendar again in the morning.
- A guided visit or combo tour. Licensed operators pre-book entry for their groups. You pay €30–50 instead of €16, but you get in on the day you want, usually with a guide and sometimes a hotel pickup. These are the listings on GetYourGuide, Viator and Headout.
What does not work: showing up early and hoping, or buying a bare "entry ticket" from an unknown website. The Fondation states that tickets from unauthorised sellers are refused at the gate.
Getting there
The garden is on Rue Yves Saint Laurent in Gueliz, about 2 km north-west of Jemaa el-Fna. Options:
- Petit taxi: 20–40 MAD from the Medina. Agree the price before you get in, or insist on the meter ("compteur"). Drivers near the garden quote tourists 100 MAD; walk 100 m away and flag another.
- Careem / inDrive: both work in Marrakech and show the price up front. Uber does not operate.
- Walking: 25–30 minutes from Jemaa el-Fna along Avenue Mohammed V. Fine in the morning; hot and dusty after 11 am in summer.
- Bus: ALSA line 1 and 11 stop on Avenue Yacoub El Mansour, 5 minutes' walk. 4 MAD, but slow.
Things nobody tells you
- There is a queue even with a ticket. At 8:00 am it is 5 minutes. At 11:00 am it can be 30. Arrive 10–15 minutes before your slot, not earlier (they will not let you in early).
- The garden is small. About 1 hectare of paths. The famous blue villa corner gets a photo queue; go there first, then wander.
- No big bags, no tripods, no drones. Phones and normal cameras are fine in the garden. No photos inside the YSL Museum.
- Toilets and café are inside the garden, after the ticket check. Prices are high (coffee ~45 MAD) but the terrace is pleasant.
- The "helpers" outside the gate who offer to "check your ticket" or sell "skip-the-line" access are not staff. Walk past them to the official entrance with the QR scanner.
- Combine with the YSL Museum next door and, if you like gardens, Le Jardin Secret in the Medina (that one you can pay at the door).
Majorelle tickets: frequently asked questions
Can I buy Majorelle Garden tickets at the entrance?
No. There is no ticket counter at the gate. Tickets are sold only online at tickets.jardinmajorelle.com, with a fixed date and time slot. If you turn up without a ticket, the staff will tell you to book on your phone, and the next free slot may be hours later or the next day.
How much is a Jardin Majorelle ticket?
Garden + Berber Museum: 170 MAD (about €16) for adults; 95 MAD for students and children 10–17; free under 10. The combined ticket with the YSL Museum is around 300 MAD. Moroccan citizens and foreign residents in Morocco pay a reduced 75 MAD with ID. Prices change: always check the official site before you pay.
What if Majorelle tickets are sold out on the official site?
Three options, in this order: (1) check other time slots the same day and the following days, as late-afternoon slots are often free; (2) check the combined ticket with the YSL Museum, which uses a separate quota; (3) book a guided tour or combo that includes entry through a platform like GetYourGuide or Viator. Those cost more, but the operator holds the entry slot for you.
How long do you need at Majorelle Garden?
The garden itself is small: 45 minutes to 1 hour is enough. Add 30–45 minutes for the Berber Museum and 1 hour for the YSL Museum next door. With the combo, plan a half day.
What is the best time to visit Jardin Majorelle?
The first slot at 8:00 am, on a weekday. The garden fills up from about 10 am and stays busy until 3 pm. The last slots after 4 pm are quieter again, and the light is better for photos.
Is the Majorelle ticket valid for the YSL Museum?
No. The Musée Yves Saint Laurent is a separate building with a separate ticket. You can buy a combined ticket for both on the official site. Note that the YSL Museum is closed on Wednesdays.
Are tickets bought on GetYourGuide or Viator valid?
Yes, as long as what you buy is a guided visit or combo run by a licensed operator who books your entry. What is not valid is a bare "entry ticket" resold by a random website: the Fondation says it does not honour tickets from unauthorised sellers. Read the listing: if it says "entry included" with a guide or transfer, you are fine.
